The region Trentino-Alto Adige is the most northern of Italy and is bordered to the east by Veneto to the north with Switzerland and Austria and to the south and west with Lombardy. Its provinces are: the capital of Trento and Bolzano. The territory of this region is completely mountainous in fact between the central and eastern Alps, the mountain ranges in the Trentino-Alto Adige offer unforgettable landscapes, among the mountain present the most famous are: the Group of Monte Baldo, the Small Dolomites The Pasubio and Mount Cavedale (3769 meters) after the Ortler (3902 m) and the Kφnigspitze (3857 meters) are the peaks with the highest altitude in the region. Hiking and skiing are of course the major sporting activities in Trentino; Stelvio, Ortisei, Madonna di Campiglio, Dobbiaco, Predazzo and Canazei are among the most important tourist attractions in this case, where the huts, the resorts and other facilities are constructed so that the man in the best way you value the natural beauty of this region. Trento is one of the two provinces of Trentino-Alto Adige region in which there are several protected natural areas whose purpose is to protect plant and animal species such as the brown bear (the largest animal of the Alps). Some areas are: the Stelvio National Park, the Natural Park Adamello-Brenta which is the largest in the region. The longest river that runs through the province is the Adige and there are numerous alpine lakes, natural and man-made, such as the Resia, the wetsuit, the shoe or the Neves although the largest lake is Lake Garda which extends for three regions of Lombardy, Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige. The remainder is Bolzano province in which there are many valleys such as the Val d'Adige, Val Pusteria, Val Venosta, as regards the steps instead appoint the Passo dello Stelvio, Passo San Lugano, the Gardena Pass or Pass Nigra. Apart from the Adige, which runs through the region, the longest rivers crossing the province, Eisack, Rienza, Passer. Bolzano also presents breathtaking waterfalls looking like Gilfenklamm, the Falls of Riva and Waterfall Partschinser which is the highest in the region.
